At Lekki British International High School, the Curriculum offered is based on the English National Curriculum with emphasis laid on “real life application” and reference made to INDIGENOUS LEARNING experiences.
The curriculum is a five year programme divided into two phases:
Key Stage 3 is a three year program running from Year 7 – 9. At this stage students are introduced to a variety of subjects ranging from the Arts, Humanities, Languages and Sciences. However, in the last year of the key Stage which is Year 9, the students sit the Cambridge Checkpoint Examination in English, Mathematics and Science. At this point our students have completed the Junior High School syllabi ready to proceed to the Senior High which is the Key Stage 4.
Key Stage 4 is a two year programme which begins in Year 10. The focus of these two years is centered around the preparation of the IGCSE
Students can take a maximum of eight subjects and a minimum of 5 in order to get the International Certificate of Education (ICE) awarded by the University of Cambridge London Examination Syndicate (UCLES). It is important to note that our students sit the IGCSE in their subject option choices and have a time-table devised to suit their specific individualised needs.
At the point of selection, two specific areas are focused on;
| Additional Mathematics | Art and Design | Biology |
| Business Studies | Chemistry | Economics |
| English Language | English Literature | French |
| Geography | History | Information Technology |
| Mathematics | Music | Physical Education |
| Physics |
At Lekki British your child is assured of a curriculum that incorporates both the social and academic aspects to learning, which promotes our core belief of the need for a holistic approach to education.
